This is a lot better than it sounds. The famous computer columnist has developed a lightweight page that is just chock full of useful links. It's sort of a "personal portal". Go to the link above and use the "save as" command to store it on your own system. You can then edit your browser options and make it your home page. From then on, starting your browser will be super fast, since your system won't need to download a bunch of images from the internet before you start surfing.
